To help you complete our Sustainability Charter questionnaire, we have compiled the following user guide.
Please take the time to watch the tutorial video or read the instructions, and check carefully before proceeding to the questionnaire. You will find a link to the questionnaire at the bottom of this page.
The user guide video tutorial provides a practical overview of why the questionnaire has been developed, how it is structured, and how we will use the information provided.
The video can be found below. Please note that the contact person at IOFI has changed to Joris Rouillon.
You can also download the Glossary of Terms used in the questionnaire.
IFRA and IOFI thank you very much for your support in this collective endeavor.
For this questionnaire, we define 'strategy' as your company having a plan of action – even in its early stages - designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim in this area.
This includes the establishment of partnerships and collaborations with external key stakeholders (e.g., SBTi, UNGC, UEBT, etc.) , the use of assessment and rating tools (e.g., EcoVadis, CDP), or public reporting through internationally agreed frameworks (e.g., GRI).
The IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Initiative is voluntary and non-binding, and both Associations want to emphasize the non-compulsory nature of the project.
Each company is involved because it is convinced that anchoring sustainability within business strategies is crucial for a prosperous and viable future.
This questionnaire is about striking a balance: we want to collect accurate information from each participant but do not want to impose external verification or control mechanisms, nor to assess or benchmark the performance of individual companies.
Individual company data will be treated confidentially and no individual company data will be communicated to other members. Instead, we will aggregate data before it is communicated, in line with our goal of giving an overview of where we stand as the fragrance and flavor industries on the subject of sustainability.
The questionnaire has five sections that relate to the five focus areas of the Sustainability Initiative - click the titles below to read fuller explanations and a summary of commitments:
Within each of the five sections, there is a similar structure and questions.
First, an overview of the agreed commitments and additional background information.
Second, a question on your company's overall strategy for this focus area. If you have an overall strategy in place, you will be asked for details such as whether your company engages in partnerships or collaborations with external key stakeholders.
Third, questions on progress against specific commitments relating to the focus area.
Besides, there are a few additional questions mainly addressed to non-direct IFRA-IOFI members related to the Charter Toolbox.
To help you complete the questionnaire, we have compiled a glossary of terms used in the questionnaire.
With this 30-minute survey we seek to understand the state of play in the fragrance and flavor industries on the five focus areas of this joint initiative.
By clicking the button below, you will be directed to the questionnaire on the Typeform platform. To proceed, you will need to obtain a password by contacting Marta Varela (mvarela@ifrafragrance.org) or Joris Rouillon (jrouillon@iofi.org).
Please continue to the end of the process, including giving your personal details, and click the 'Submit my answers to the questionnaire' button.
